Final
Meet my best friend. We work together, so during some downtime I got to capture a few pictures of him. He's always been my greatest muse.
I like the way you caught his expression very much... one of the goals of this assignment was to use directed highlight and shadow light (as from a window, open porch, etc) to illuminate the face... The bright background in the top three take away the viewers attention from the focal point which is his face and more so the eyes. Having said that, the bottom one is the strongest and my favorite...See how the rim light on the far side of his face provides visual interest and how he separates from the background?
