Macro

I thought taking photos up close and personal was going to be easier than it actually was. I tried to get in close with my 50mm and that was a disaster. I switched to the 18-55mm and still couldn't get in as close as I wanted without the image getting out of focus but had much better success. Here are some of the shots!

I don't know what made me think to capture this but I was surprised of the amount of detail

Damn cat kept moving so most of the photos were blurred but I finally got her !!

Final

Meet my best friend. We work together, so during some downtime I got to capture a few pictures of him. He's always been my greatest muse.

Wondow Light

I had to convince my beautiful wife to be my model and stand by the window. With a little resistance she complied and here are some of my best shots.

This assignment was a little tough. Not because of the lack of things to shoot but because when I tried to zoom in to get the closest shot the images became distorted and unfocused. Here's are a few of the best shots I have.

Shadows and Light

Shadows and Light

I had a little fun playing with this idea. Instead of using natural light and the sun I decided to use a flashlight to cast some shadows and I came up with some pretty interesting shots.

Week 6, Window Light Portrait

I wanted to post these now so I would have time for some redos and add ons before class ends. I have been experimenting with the window light portraits for the last few weeks. But the sun was always too bright or I was unsure how to position the subject for the best light. The video that is posted on the syllabus is really good and helped me out quite a bit in figuring out correct positioning in relation to the window and maximizing the natural light. I'm lucky to have my two daughters to help me for these assignments. But you'll see mostly photos of the older one, because the younger one is not quite as patient with mom since it takes me a while to get what I'm happy with. ha.
